Heat Transfer Mechanisms

Things are starting to heat up in STEM! RHMS Grade 7 STEM students are investigating thermal equilibrium and heat transfers. In this demo filled day, students explored convection in fluids, conduction of heat and expansion of metals. 

Using a convection tube, students discovered that warmer liquids rise and cooler liquids sink to form convection currents and make connections with real world events such as tectonic plate motion and weather patterns!
