Children in Room 111 learned all about Chinese New Year. They learned that 2017 is the year of the rooster and that rooster represents determination, bravery and wit. We also learned about how people give out red envelopes (hong bao) for Chinese New Year and how people eat oranges to bring good luck. Other traditions include decorating doors with red banners and lighting up firecrackers to scare away evil spirits.
Room 111 made a board to showcase all that they know about Chinese New Year!
