Alien Heart Transplants

The Grade Fours create hearts for their extra-terrestrial friends in Science class.
The grade four students were busy this winter handling a serious problem: Aliens! These extra-terrestrial visitors needed the children’s help acquiring new hearts and the grade fours delivered.  Hearts were constructed from plasticine, showcasing the children’s understanding of the form and function of these very important organs.

The junior doctors participated in the heart transplant with the alien (only the pictures can explain this moment) and then practiced their bedside manner by communicating with the aliens exactly how the heart works, how the circulatory and respiratory systems are connected, and how to keep the heart healthy.  What an adventure!

Mrs. Sadler and the grade fours would like to thank Mr. Lynch for creatively bringing our alien to fruition!
