Shopping For Decimals

The Grade 3 classes took a moment to shop around for some decimals.
To finish off their decimals unit in Math, the grade 3 classes took a moment to shop around for some decimals!  Flyers from various stores were brought in and the students selected a range of items to add to their “shopping lists”, including food, electronics, toys, and books.  They had an opportunity to experience what the everyday shopper feels, what it is like to estimate prices (of course, being decimal numbers) and to calculate and spend their money in order to purchase goods and products they wanted or needed.

Some students tried their best to budget and save their money, while others went all out and spent big!  But no worries… it was all in good fun and decimal comprehension!  What an exciting way to end a unit - with a shopping spree!
