On Tuesday May 16th at 7:25am, the grade six students left RHMS to begin their end of year trip to Ottawa! After an exciting bus ride down Highway 401, and a quick stop at an enroute park; six hours later we arrived in our Nation’s Capital.
The students enjoyed many educational activities such as: guided tours of the Diefenbunker Museum, the Museum of Nature, and the National Art Gallery. We also had a discussion on the architecture of the War Museum, a guided grounds tour of Rideau Hall, and a tour of Parliament Buildings. A great start to the Parliament was a personal visit from Richmond Hill’s MP, MP Majib Jowhari (where each student received a signed copy of a Parliament Book)!
After long days, we enjoyed many social activities like: Byward Market, Rock’n Bowling, Disco Dance Cruise, delicious meals together, and of course… hanging out in the hotel with friends and our Tour Guide, Leigh!
A special thank you goes out to all of the grade six students for a truly memorable end of year trip.
