Our preschoolers went to Willowgrove Farm last week to see first-hand what we have been learning in the classroom. There is something about a pond that intrigues almost every child-a combination of water, crayfish, mud nets and buckets that seem to be a kind of kid magnet.
The children’s experience provided living examples of life cycles, and animal and plant adaptations. In learning about the pond creatures first-hand children will develop an appreciation for the outdoors and its inhabitants.
