RHMS Honours the Past and Remembers the Men and Women Who Served and Sacrificed for Our Country
Today RHMS held an assembly of remembrance where every student observed a moment of silence to honour the many men and women who have fallen in service of our country. Our excellent student speakers recalled the significant moments in Canada’s history such as Passchendaele, Normandy, Vimy Ridge, Dieppe, and more where many Canadian men and women lost their lives. It gave our students a chance to share not only what they have learned in history class, but also their feelings of respect for the past and gratitude for the present, with the hope to inspire younger generations. The ceremony ended with a presentation of wreaths and a moving performance by the Junior Choir.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.”
