Scientists in the School visit RHMS for Laboratory Experiments
RHMS students were visited by Scientists in the School in Ms. Ana Bernard’s Senior Science class to observe plant and human cells under microscopes. The Grade 7 students were amazed to see all of the components of the cell that they had previously studied in class, magnified in real life samples (such as a purple onion). They were able to identify components such as the cell wall, membrane, cytoplasm and more. They also assembled their slides themselves using iodine to colorize the samples. The students all used their laboratory equipment safely and are well on their way to becoming thoughtful and responsible scientists in the future.
