Grade 1 Students Prepare Song and Dance from La Poule Maboule
At RHMS, our teachers like Ms. Claire Easton are practicing innovative and highly effective second language learning strategies in the primary curriculum. Using AIM (Accelerative Integrated Methodology), "La Poule Maboule" teaches students essential vocabulary that is contextualized through stories, drama, song, and dance. Each word is represented with a gesture so that the language is represented visually and kinaesthetically. This allows our students to achieve extraordinarily high levels of oral and written proficiency rarely seen with conventional methods. The students are already using their gestures and speaking French in class, we look forward to hearing their bilingual and maybe even trilingual voices in the future!
