Montessori Students Practice Mindfulness Through Art and Nature
This month, RHMS Montessori students have been learning about famous artists and their masterpieces. One sunny afternoon, Ms. Diana Petrescu’s class took their lesson outdoors so that students could create their own masterpieces by studying real nature. They began by stretching and taking deep breaths, taking in the fresh air and beauty of their surroundings, so that they could be mindful and thoughtful about their artwork. The students then sat on the RHMS steps and silently sketched the beautiful scenery in their field of view – the colorful trees and their changing leaves, the school playground, and more. Their attention to detail was truly remarkable!
