Grade 3 and 6 Students Learned About Safety from the York Region Police

The Grade 3 and 6 classes were visited by Constable Alexandre Hon from the York Region Police to talk to the students about safety. Grade 6 classes learned about guns, gangs and violence and the Grade 3 classes learned about bullying. These important visits are a part of the VIP (Values, Influences, and Peers) program. Students learned a lot about safety and realized some of the misconceptions they previously had. Students contributed thought provoking and engaging questions which provided for a fruitful discussion with Constable Alex on some very serious issues. In the coming weeks some of our other grades will also be visited by the York Region Police to talk about more of these important safety topics.
