Alien Open Heart Surgery

Grade 4 Students Perform Alien Heart Transplant

A strange alien has crash landed in RHMS’ science lab! Luckily, our savvy Grade 4 doctors knew just what to do to save the alien. Grade 4 classes have been learning about the anatomy, form, and function of the heart and students have been working hard to sculpt hearts with labels that identify the aorta, pulmonary veins, chambers, and other parts and valves. Each student got the chance to use the plastacine heart they made to save the alien in open heart surgery. This fun lesson was a great way for these junior doctors to test their knowledge of how the heart works and is connected to other bodily systems like the circulatory and respiratory systems.
