Going to Great Lengths in Grade 3

The Grade Threes at RHMS have recently begun their unit on Measurement. To help apply their understanding of length in real life, our inquisitive mathematicians explored various objects around the school. In pairs, students ventured inside and outside the classroom to locate objects of interest and take individual estimates of their length. They then used tape measures to find the exact length and compared. Anything from lockers and recycling bins all the way to other people were not off limits. The children had a blast and showed that their math skills definitely “measure” up!
