Grade 5s Discover Biodiversity in Exciting Interactive Workshop

RHMS Grade 5 students became taxonomists for a day in Science class where they learned about the vast diversity of living things. Students were able to investigate real preserved specimens like squid, starfish, sea anemone, bats, mice, leeches, and more up close! They imposed order on the chaos of living things by organizing their samples into the various kingdom and species categories. This interactive hands-on lesson was a great way to peak students’ interest in biodiversity and conservation. Studying the many similarities and differences between life’s organisms showed the class that we are all connected!
