Elementary Performing Arts Week 2018

Concerts Dazzle the RHMS Community with Singing and Dancing Performances

Our students have been working so hard all year long and were so excited to bring some amazing shows to the RHMS community for Performing Arts Week! Grades 3 and 4 students opened up a superb evening show. The Grade 3s presented “Musical Movie Montages” that included Moana, Trolls, and SING. We were blown away by the amazing singers in this group. Our Grade 4s presented “Spring” where each class took on a different form of weather including rockin’ Thunder, musical Rain, and groovy Sunshine. Our Grade 4s brought a ton of personality and some fun wacky costumes that included taco hats, inflatable guitars, and curly yellow wigs!

Grades 5 and 6 presented “The Sky’s the Limit” their famous International Festival presentation which they shared with the community on Wednesday evening. We followed Waldo and Carmen on a journey across the world that taught us about the importance of understanding and appreciating one another’s cultural backgrounds. Students showed amazing energy in their worldly songs.

Finally, the week closed out with our Grade 1 and 2 performances. The Grade 1s got everyone’s toes tapping in their “Feel the Rhythm” presentation. We went from powerful African beats, to high energy upbeat tunes, to some groovy songs from the past. They were followed by our Grade 2 classes who gave us a new appreciation for our home country – Canada – with inspiring performances that covered Canada’s weather, landscape, and inclusive spirit. We even got to hear a Canada rap!

What an amazing job our students did performing. Thank you to the RHMS community for coming out to support our students and cheer them on. Thank you to our creative faculty for organizing such colourful and spirited performances. Thank you to our staff for their invaluable help with the production. And finally, thank you to our amazing students – without their hard work and enthusiasm this fantastic show wouldn’t have been possible!
