Math Escape (Home)Room Challenge
"Amazing Race" and Escape Room mash up for math homeroom challenge!
Students in Ms. Ciccone' Grade 5 class used their problem-solving skills to conquer the Math Escape (Home)Room challenge.
The exercise, molded after the popular Escape Room attractions, featured a different math concept, like multiples, factors, divisibility rules and exponents.
Students had to combine unit review with team work to be successful in the four-round challenge. The grade 5s were divided into their house teams and worked together to move forward.
Some rounds contained tasks like finding the greatest common factor, while others were unlocked by explaining how an equation was solved.
