Montessori Students Create A Work Of Art

Montessori students studied famous artists this month.  They explored different artists by looking at a variety of art such as pop art, action art and cubism. Some of their favourite painters to explore were Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Picasso and Claude Monet. Class P3 based their classroom artwork project on Claude Monet who liked to paint nature scenes from his garden in France.  The children were shown a picture of Claude Monet’s famous work titled Water Lilies and only given a few shades of green and yellow to paint with.  They learned that although everyone used the same colours of paint to create their artwork, every finished masterpiece looked different.
