Global And Canadian Communities

Global and Canadian Communities were highlighted within the RHMS Grade 6 Social Studies lessons and activities this month.  Students applied their knowledge of community features, digital editing skills, visual art and linguistic abilities to write and design postcards from various communities around the world. The postcards informed imaginary recipients of the special features that each community possess such as culture, diverse population, language and climate.  These were demonstrated within their text and graphic designs.  Students were given the opportunity to present their postcards to classmates, ask and answer questions about the communities chosen, and showcase final products within Schoology Class Galleries.
