Let's Get Active

RHMS Grade 2 students enjoyed a fun physical education session with Ms. Lombardi.  The extended closure and isolation due to COVID-19 has had an impact on all of our daily routines and lives.  It is more important than ever to continue to find ways to stay active and maintain your health (both physically and mentally).

During class, the students learned about the importance of a proper warm-up and cool-down before being active. A proper warm-up increases the temperature and flexibility of your muscles, and helps you be more efficient during your workout. It allows a gradual increase in your heart rate.   After an activity session, the purpose of the cool - down is to return your heart rate close to resting. It will help reduce muscle soreness and speed up the recovery process after the activity session.

We encourage all of our students to stay active and maintain a healthy mind and healthy body!
