Digging Through The Past

RHMS Grade 8 students started off their STEM unit with a virtual dig for fossils. Their goal was to dig 100m into the virtual ground. Using the fossil record key, students were tasked with determining which organisms were present at each depth. They used rock and fossil evidence to make inferences about the environment or the habitat that might have existed during the time these organisms lived. 

They enjoyed digging through the past to learn about what our planet was like long ago.
