Exploring Ecosystems

RHMS Grade 7 students are exploring the dynamics of ecosystems. In this 3 week investigation, students will be investigating how excess nutrients (eutrophication), environmental conditions and climate change can lead to harmful algae blooms. 

Using a sample from two student-supplied local water sources identified on a map (Lake Wilcox and a small pond in a local Markham park), students are investigating the effects of Algae blooms on water quality and aquatic life.
