Before winter break, RHMS grade one students started their procedural writing unit. They ended the month of December by making a class recipe book. Students were encouraged to work with their families to write out and follow one of their favourite family recipes.
This helped them have hands-on experience with procedural writing, not to mention it helped them with lifetime skills through basic math such as counting, weighing, measuring, tracking time. They also gained social skills by working together and communicating in the kitchen with their families. Everything looked delicious!
