Montessori Calligraphy Art

This week, to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, children in Montessori learned the art of calligraphy and created their own good luck red banner in Chinese characters such as “spring” and “fortune”. 

The diamond shaped banners are often turned upside down to symbolize wishes of good fortune and Spring arriving early. These smaller banners are put up upside down to symbolize blessings pouring into the home or business. Happy Year of the Tiger!
