Sparking Creativity

RHMS students in grades 3 through 8 worked on their devices to create different types of digital art using applications and programs.  The grade 3 students created their projects on the Procreate application using their iPads while the remaining students from grades 4 through 8 worked using Adobe Photoshop on their laptops.

All of the students were introduced to different techniques such as how to colour drop, create gradients with the Gaussian Blur tool, apply and use a drawing guide for radial symmetry, and apply a clipping mask to layer so they could create scratch art style mandalas.

Some of the final artwork included fruit bowls using layers and basic tools from Photoshop, graffiti style names with an illusion of a graffiti style photo on a brick wall using filters, creating silhouette figures, pure gold letters and drawings of vector landscapes.

Each grade level had the opportunity to strengthen their digital art program knowledge base and skillset, and will continue to build upon what they know each academic year.  One of the best things about digital painting?  No messy paint to clean up!
