RHMS 2021-2022 Science Expo

Congratulations to this year's RHMS 2021-2022 Science Expo participants and winners! Our Science Expo nurtured creativity and experimentation amongst the students and it seems to have taken a natural innovative tech turn this year! 

We would like to acknowledge Justin.L., Sofia.V., Aidan.V., Emily.K., Megan.C., Aleksandra.W., Sierra.R., and Grace.L. who placed second and third in our Grade 7 and 8 category for their outstanding projects.

This winning experiments showcased many dynamic projects such as using technology to improve bicycle safety, using scents to mask the smell of food to help people avoid encounters with bears on a campground, creating wind turbines to determine which produces more electrical energy for residential and small-scale uses, creating a traffic glove for officers to help with visibility at traffic stops during the night, developing a device to solve the common problem of forgetting small items in the car, creating a window screen that would most effectively block pollen granules to assist with allergies, creating sensors to place around swimming pools to assist and alert with potential drownings and creating a new way to generate electricity through everyday activities to help reduce dependence on electricity generated from non-renewable sources such as fossil fuels and nuclear fuels.
