Invest In Our Planet

On Friday, April 22nd RHMS celebrated Earth Day! This year the theme was 'Invest in Our Planet'. Every one of us needs a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health, and happiness. As individuals, we have the simple yet effective power to make our voices heard through the choices we make every day. What we all do, and how we do it, has a huge ripple effect on our ecosystems. We need to act boldly and innovatively to make the changes necessary to build a healthy planet for future generations. 

 

Earth Day should not just be celebrated on April 22nd. We should be celebrating and protecting the Earth every day. 

 

RHMS students in Grade 2 and Grade 3 took a field trip and explored the David Dunlop Observatory Trails.  They reflected on what they could reasonably do every day to invest in protecting our planet such as recycling, spending time planting seeds in the garden and conserving energy. It was a day well spent outdoors learning and enjoying nature.
