We Rise By Lifting Others

RHMS Grade 4 students learned about Ramadan and their celebrations.  The students recognized the purpose behind fasting, and how the fast is broken after sunset with a meal called suhoor.  Ramadan is a time where Muslims give back to their community, and focus on being grateful for what they have. 

Students who celebrate Eid shared how their family and friends come together. There are special prayers, food, and gifts exchanged during this time.

 

Giving our students the opportunity to share their different cultures and traditions with each other helps to increase their awareness, appreciation, and inclusion of diverse beliefs and cultures.
