RHMS Grade 8 students investigated the evolution of fruits and vegetables and created an information card depicting the ancestral fruit/vegetable to the modern day organism.

 

Plant breeding is the science of changing the traits of plants in order to produce desired characteristics. The students learned that humans play a major role in breeding produce that boast unique and superior traits for agricultural applications including taste, frost resistance, life span and nutritional value.
