Geographical Patterns

RHMS Grade 7 Students are currently working on an activity for social studies where they analyze and interpret Canada's physical patterns such as landform regions, eco zones, vegetation, and climate. They are learning how these factors impact the population density of a region and Canada as a whole.

The Students are using ArcGis-a geographic information system with interactive mapping software, that allows students to be able to interact with and layer multiple pieces of data to better understand spatial patterns and relationships.

Geographic Information Systems are used in a variety of different fields such as resource management, project planning, retail, marketing, urban development, sustainability, environmental crisis response, and engineering.
