Montessori It's Ok To Be Different

RHMS Montessori students enjoyed an outing to the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts to watch a production titled “It’s ok to be different” by Todd Parr.  It was performed by the Mermaid Theatre group of Nova Scotia.

The story delivered important messages of acceptance, understanding and self-confidence. 

In addition, the children were in for a treat as they were able to enjoy more stories with puppetry and music such as “The Earth Book” and “This is My Hair”.  Teaching them valuable lessons about keeping our environment healthy and always feeling good about yourself.

Upon returning from the excursion, the Montessori students spent time reflecting on what they liked about the performances. They made journal entries and drew lovely pictures.
