Montessori States Of Matter

RHMS Montessori students were very excited to explore the concept of matter learning about solids, liquids, and gases through hands-on activities and engaging experiments.

They investigated how liquids turn into solids through the process of making butter, observing how churning cream transforms it from a liquid to a solid state. To explore atomic structures, the students created 3D models using toothpicks and marshmallows, helping them visualize the arrangement of atoms in solids, liquids, and gases. Other experiments included how matter changes from one state to another by using balloons and creating their own goop to observe how matter can behave as both a solid and a liquid.

Through these activities, students gained a tactile, concrete understanding of the different states of matter and how they can transform in real-life processes.
