RHMS students came together this week to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, to honour the children who were affected by Canada's residential school system. Through lessons and discussions, they learned about the significance of the day, gaining a deeper understanding of the phrase “Every Child Matters”.
To express what they had learned, the students created meaningful artwork using orange tones, symbols of hope, and words of remembrance. Being creative helped the students reflect on the importance of truth, respect and reconciliation in a way that was both powerful and heartfelt.
