Grade 5 students participate in a Math Olympic Challenge.
Nothing says Welcome Back from winter break like a fun and exciting Math Olympics Competition! To help get their brains back in “school mode”, the Grade 5 students participated in a Math Olympic Challenge. Students from all three classes were put into groups and given different challenges to complete. The students had to work together to solve problems from units that were covered from September to December.
Not only did this challenge help build team work, but it refreshed students memories on concepts like Ratio, Greatest Common Factor, Lowest Common Multiple, Problem Solving and Exponents. Team 1 was the winning team!
