Having A Ball In Montessori Physical Education

Our Montessori friends have been learning how to throw in Phys Ed this month.  We began learning the skill using brightly coloured scarves and balloons, if you walked past the gym this month; it really looked like we were having a party! 

Once we mastered throwing those lighter objects we were able to move on to smaller and heavier items and had a great time playing throwing games with beanbags and balls!  The children learned about two different ways to throw and were able to demonstrate the skills of underhand and overhand throwing.  They had fun aiming into buckets and trying to knock over balls, we even used our addition skills to tally our points on the beanbag target.
