I Can Tie A Bow!

“The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one’s self.” Dr. Maria Montessori
It seems that of all the Montessori activities, the bow frame is the one that the children take the most pride in mastering.  At first it can be quite overwhelming and frustrating, but with a little perseverance and determination, once mastered it's quite an accomplishment.  It’s a sign of growing up!  Continue to have your child dress on his/her own, practicing zippers, buttons, snaps and even bows to help build his/her independence.  As Maria Montessori once said “never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed”.
