RHMS Grade 1 students decorate t-shirts to be sent to Tanzania as part of the Donate Your T Project.
This past week, the grade one students had the opportunity during art class to decorate a t-shirt with a positive message on it, which would then be sent to Tanzania as a part of the Donate Your T project. As we discussed the importance of helping and showing kindness to others, one of the students lifted their hands and asked “I’m just a kid, what can I do to help someone?” The class started to brainstorm ideas of ways they could help to make a difference in someone’s life. The more they shared their ideas the more excited they became. This led to us challenging one another to try and do at least one nice thing to help someone over the weekend. When the students returned after the weekend they shared the various ways that they were able to help someone. We learned that even the smallest gesture can impact and make a difference in a person’s life.
