Sounds of the Season Food Drive

Millions around the world go hungry every day, even in our own backyards. To combat this ever-growing crisis, RHMS will be collecting donations for the annual Sounds of the Season Food Drive hosted by CBC for the second year in a row. Last year, RHMS won the CBC's Top Food-raiser Award by collecting 8,000 lbs of non-perishable food. Let's raise the bar this year!

From November 6th through until December 1st, blue collection barrels will be placed outside the elementary office as well as in Montessori by the elevators. Basic food items needed include: rice, flour, pasta, canned beans, canned fruits and vegetables, canned or powdered milk, baby formula.

 

Students in each house are challenged to collect as many non-perishable goods as they can. Teachers and Student Council will be tracking how many non-perishable food items each house brings in. Each food item will count as a tally towards your house.  The house with the most tallies (items) will earn 100 house points.
