Grade 6 Students Program Smarter, Faster, Soccer Playing Robots
RHMS Grade 6 students are back at it in Mr. Mike Washburn’s computers class, coding robots that are faster, smarter, and now can even play soccer! The class took their robot teams to the RHMS computers class arena where a friendly soccer competition got the students excited about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Learning. Their skills are vastly improving in all of these areas as they learn to program robots with more and more advanced capabilities. These classes teach our students not just to be computer users, but computer creators. Their teamwork also shone through as they worked together to ensure their robot's successful operation. The class was a fun payoff for all of the hard work the Grade 6 students have put into programming this term.
