Paving the Way for Primary Students

At RHMS, our Senior students are role models and mentors for our younger students. In an innovative and collaborative class, our Grade 7 and Grade 1 students came together to learn about gathering data and graphing it. Both grades partnered up, and the Seniors showed our younger students how to use Google Spreadsheets for the first time, in order to create a tally chart. After collecting data on students’ favourite cities, ice cream flavours, and sports, they worked together to create a bar chart on large graphing paper and interpret it. The lesson brought together Senior with Primary, and technology with drawing. Just one of the many ways that RHMS’ cooperative and supportive community helps students reach their full potential and become leaders for their peers.
