Invention Adventures At RHMS

RHMS Grade 1 students have been learning about using biomimicry (copying plants and animals) to solve human problems in their STEM class. They used the Engineering Design Process to create inventions that can protect campers from mosquitoes, rainstorms, and cold weather.

The students used plant and animal defense mechanisms in their designs. The inventions included a cactus vest with thorns to keep mosquitoes away, a mosquito trap inspired by the venus fly trap, and a cow vest with a tail to swat mosquitoes away.

What an amazing adventure for our first grade inventors!
