Montessori Explore, Experience And Experiment

RHMS Montessori students learned about primary colours. Not only did they discover the wonderful colours of red, yellow and blue, they also gained an understanding that by mixing the primary colours together they can create secondary colours such as green, orange and purple.

 

They were introduced to this unit by participating in creative activities that allowed them to have tons of fun with colour mixing. The students enjoyed colouring images, doing crafts and experimenting mixing red, yellow and blue food colouring together to see what the outcome would be. 

 

Teaching our Montessori students about the primary colours assists with the importance of their cognitive and motor skills.  It was an enjoyable way to introduce colours and the concept of mixing colour combinations.
