A Time To Celebrate

Learning about cultural traditions connects our students to people around the world and it teaches them how to show respect and kindness to those who may have different customs than us.

Last week, our Grade 4 students learned about the celebration of Nowruz from two of their peers.  They shared information with the class about how the Persian New Year is celebrated.  Nowruz is an opportunity for those who participate to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future.

The children enjoyed sharing their traditions and worked together to educate each other on their cultural practices that are shared with their families and the community.
